Working Together We Can Find A Better Way

Kathleen Ann

Precinct Committee Woman – SC11
Chairman South Dakota Legislative District 30

I live in the heart of the South Dakota Badlands. My great-grandfather homesteaded in Rapid Valley in 1880 and I am a 4th generation resident of Pennington County.

joying continued service to my fellow citizens.

I am a web designer, am owner of a subscription based web site and enjoy photography!

Imlay was layed out and platted by the railroad in the early 1900’s. It is in eastern Pennington Co, on east Hi-Way 44, about 20 miles from the Jackson Co line.

Our family built the structure known as the creston dinosaur.

Memories of my early years are of joyous discovery in the beautiful Badlands where I have returned to live again at Imlay – as its only resident.

Science and public policy have been life-long passions of mine.

I was born in the New Underwood hospital where my mother was a nurse . I spent my youth between Creston and Imlay South Dakota, both now ghost towns which are located east of Rapid City on highway 44.

Because of my mother’s illness, I was raised from age two and a half till 13 by my grandmother who was store owner, post mistress and school teacher at Imlay. I attended the little one room school at Imlay through the eighth grade.

I am a graduate of Rapid City High School. I attended Ben Lomond High School, Ogden, Utah my 10th grade year.

I then attended one year Sacramento State College, Sacramento California then returned again to western South Dakota where I attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology for three years as a special student – emphasis – biology.

I was married for 27 years and raised two daughters.

Rebecca, is a School of Mines graduate as a metallurgical engineer and is a retired corrosion specialist for bp in Chicago.

Lorena, lives in Colorado, has a degree in English from the University of Maryland and is mother of my granddaughter, Reiko.

My grandson, Levi, works for a medical supply co in Colorado and is the father of my two great grandchildren..

Thank you for stopping by
